Editorial Policy

How Pet Food App content is researched, reviewed, and maintained.

Scope

Pet Food App provides educational guidance about food safety for dogs and cats. Content is intended to help pet owners make informed decisions and does not replace direct veterinary care.

Research Sources

We prioritize primary and authoritative references, including veterinary hospitals, toxicology resources, government nutrition data, and peer-reviewed publications. Each food entry includes citations so readers can verify source context.

Writing Standards

  • Use clear, practical language focused on pet safety decisions.
  • Separate mechanism, symptoms, and handling guidance for readability.
  • Avoid speculative claims and unsupported treatment recommendations.
  • Use species-specific cautions and toxicology wording where needed.

Review and Updates

Entries are drafted by the PFA Editorial Team and reviewed by the PFA Safety Review Team before publication. Review checks include consistency, source quality, and structural standards. We revise content when new evidence appears, source guidance changes, or users report issues.

Each entry carries visible author/reviewer metadata and review date so readers can see who prepared and reviewed the page.

Publishing Status and Indexing

We use a simple publishing status model for quality control:

  • published: visible on site and eligible for sitemap/indexing.
  • draft: not included in sitemap/indexing until editorial completion.

Draft food pages are served with noindex directives and excluded from public API responses. We only promote entries when audit gates pass.

Corrections Policy

If you find an error, email thepetfoodapp@gmail.com with the food slug or page URL and supporting details. Confirmed corrections are applied in the next content update cycle.

Independence and Disclosure

Editorial decisions are made for safety and accuracy. Advertisements or partner relationships do not determine safety status, source citations, or core recommendations.
