Flatbread includes pita, naan, tortilla, lavash, and similar thin breads made from flour, water, and salt, sometimes with yeast or oil. It is used for wraps, sandwiches, dipping, and pizza-style bases in many cuisines. Flatbread is mostly carbohydrate and is not a nutrient-dense pet food.
Some types are unleavened and dry, while others are soft and chewy from yeast and higher moisture. Many recipes and restaurant versions are brushed with butter or oil and topped with garlic, cheese, herbs, or spicy sauces. Stuffed flatbreads can also include rich fillings.
Flatbread leftovers are often used for wraps with deli meat, hummus, or spreads that add salt and fat. Crisped pieces from chips or toasted wedges can be swallowed in large bites. Tear any offered plain piece into small soft portions.
For pets, plain pieces are the lowest-risk option and portions should stay very small. Seasoned or topped versions may add sodium, fat, and alliums such as onion or garlic. Bread should stay a rare add-on, not a routine snack.
